    Default Forklift Rental?

Please delete if this breaks any rules.

I am purchasing a piece of equipment for my business. It weighs 9,600 Lbs. I need to get it off a truck and into my shop. I don't have a concrete driveway so it will have to be driven through the dirt. The machine will be on a pallet so forks can be used. Any and all suggestion's are appreciated (well maybe not all of them). I can give more information.

    Thanks fellas

Call your local rental company and see if they’ll bring you a adequately sized lull on a hauler. Coordinate the time of your delivery and the lull to arrive at the same time. Unload and get the driver of the hauler to stick around for 15 minutes and then you won’t get charged delivery and also pickup fee for the lull.

I’ve done it a couple times for smaller renovations in the upstate in the past and that method has worked for quick unloads where the delivery truck doesn’t have a moffet/piggyback on it. If it took longer than 15 minutes of so I’d usually just buy the driver of the hauler lunch to keep him around a little longer.

Find out what rental company Fullchoke uses and go that route.. Never heard of anyone not charging a delivery and p/u fee. That will help on the price a lot. I know of one rental company that there isn't a snowballs chance in hell of doing that.

Edit: Unless they are fukin you with an overpriced delivery fee so you get the p/u for "free."

Rental Company... Lull... Done. You should be able to rent for 1/2 day. Where are you located?

I don't reckon there is any construction going on near your shop? If so I would find the PM for the plumbers or the structural guys and ask them if they could assist. A case of beer and you're all set.

Steel guys are about the only ones that would have a 10k capacity lull. Most of those guys aren’t the friendliest and more generous type. Won’t hurt to ask though!

For steel guys you’d be better suited bribing them with a case of Monster energy and a 30pack of BC powders.

10k Shooter will cost you approx $700/day plus P&D, insurance and rental protection. Guessing you’ll be around $1200 for the day when it’s all said and done.
