    Default OOS Host Gift Ideas

What do you bring landowners, and hunting opportunity benefactors out west?

I'd rather not bring perishables, but not out of the question. I dont want to drag a bushel of oysters if you know what I mean. It/they would have to fit on a checked bag.

Would like something unique to our state. He's a Coors and blended whiskey guy.

If he is a coors guy, buy him a few hustler magazines still in the plastic without the pages stuck together, 2 cases of coors and a flat of potted meat. You'll be his favorite client.

Don't know if they still do them but I've always thought the Adluh Flour gift baskets with the smaller bags of different products were neat.

Edit to add, don't know if they are readers but SC has put out some good hunting related books, Sunrise on Santee, Ramblings of a LC GW, etc.

Shrimp, if you care enough to do it right. Nothing easy about it though...

I'm taking him an Horry County passport and grits. Maybe a jar of Dukes.

The books and Adluh gift basket are a good idea. Maybe a wheel of some onion sausage made by the famous Salty Nut.

Of course shrimp, but how do I fly with frozen shrimp and not have my clothing smell like I just spent a few days in a new orleans whore house?

I checked a cooler of shrimp we caught in SC and flew to Utah last fall, froze them in quart bags and used freezer blocks. Easy process.

I'm taking a soft sided cooler in my luggage for turkey breast and salmon. I just have never had a bag of shrimp not leak...

That would be three checked bags. Trying to limit it to two.

Missed the flying part. Shrimp is enough of a pain driving a truck, but it pays big. You can probably Amazon you up some SC Shramps to his door these days...

Any of Havilah Babcock's books would probably be appreciated.

I was going to say knife but it sounds like you’re set. Cigars, a nice flask, some tasteful SC/outdoors drink ware.

We checked 30-40lbs of shrimp in a soft cooler to ND and did a lowcountry boil for almost the entire town. They loved it and talk about it every time we speak. Make sure they know they have to peel them. Watched quite a few down them without peeling them.

Bring old bay, you won’t find it in ND.

how dare you disgrace a Frogmore Stew with such yankee blasphemy.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Palmetto Cheese was well received, easy, and somewhat novel.
