Define underbrush
You don’t want trees next to your fences. Kill it all.
Roll around it it naked. Def helps
Mix whatever you choose 2-3x hotter than recommended and stay upwind. Doesn’t hurt to use a heavy garden rake or hatchet to scar up the vines and leaves prior to spraying. Use a surfactant. Spray liberally on a warm, dry day.
Be careful or you will kill the trees.

When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. -Tecumseh-
use round up brush killer (or whatever) just dont get it on the leaves of the tree. it really is that simple.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
I've been working on a bushy area in my yard that has some poison ivy. I have vines that grow up through the bark of Palmetto trees that I don't want to kill. I used a mixture of Triclopyr, Glyphosate and diesel fuel and it killed vines I physically applied it to but I still have vines occasionally reappear from the root stock.
Be careful with the debris. Even the ground up dust for old dried leaves can give you a bad case of the itch. Burning it and getting in the smoke can even cause blindness. Zanfel ointment is the best remedy I've found for the rash.
Get you some garlon.
