    Default Builders Shutting Down

How much of a premium do you think the used boat market will see this summer with manufacturers shutting down due to the resin shortage?

you wont be able to afford gas for it anyway. Gas is going to spike because they cant get anyone to drive the damn trucks.

SUP's and Kayaks will be at a premium.

I'm thinking that we will all be out of work by August because the manufacturers will be out of business by July. And then the enhanced benefits don't get renewed in September. And the war between the haves and have nots start in October. Way to go joe and hoe.

"The shortage was caused in part by the coronavirus pandemic. As offices and businesses closed down, people were traveling less, and the demand for gasoline plummeted. Stuck without work, many older truck drivers decided to retire, while younger ones left the profession or started hauling regular freight.

In order to haul a gas tanker, truck drivers need a special certification, in addition to a commercial driver's license. Finding new truck drivers or getting experienced drivers certified is not an easy task because many truck driving schools were closed during the pandemic."

And they have cracked down on cdl drivers Smokers and sleep apnea and obesity etc etc. has become a royal pain to keep one. Half of our guys are getting 6 month dot physical certification instead of normal 2 years. Govt regulations.

The driver shortage is nothing new. Not sure why I would sign up for a tanker job with general freight paying so well.

I’ve got 2 CDL openings right now and would contract at least that many O/O’s if I could find them.
