Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
Your opinion of “interesting” needs reevaluation.
First week of June last year, but that’s because the first go round got washed out with 5-6 inches of rain. Heads were smaller and stalks thinner. Also produced a shittier dove season. Ours out in the ground now which is the earliest we’ve ever planted.
Go Tigers!!!
Try to have them in the ground by May 15th. I've always liked having them in the ground earlier but some fields just weren't ready to plant yet.

For the ducks
Ours went in yesterday
Corn, the next couple of days
Pre emergents went down Friday before the rain on Saturday, everything is no till
Millet will be later on down the line
Planted corn and sunflowers friday, sprayed with dual magnum and got a good soaking rain saturday . hopeful
If it aint got 8 toes & a green head,it aint a duck.
Great question 2th. One of the best fields I hunt has flowers not mature on the opener. Has plenty of proso for early season. He does not spray them, let's them die naturally and has seeds for all 3 seasons. Not sure on days to maturity for flowers but food for thought. I know they are the cats ass for doves but the cost and labor involved keeps me with corn, sorghum and white militt.
I planted mine today. Going to spray Friday and hope to get some rain Saturday. Last year I planted on May 6 and they were drying out by August 1. As for the latest day to plant, I would say May 15 also. My corn is up about 3 inches and looking good. Let's hope we get a couple rains on them the next couple months.
E T
Ours have been in the ground for a week.
More fuel = more boost!!
The Gold Finches thank you.
Lol, yep
Planted mine Friday before the rain. Then the rain never showed, shocking. Planted May 7 last year and had a great crop. Also planted June 1 one year and did fine as far as growing. Hope this helps.
Planted June 7th last year. Plenty of moisture. Perfect crop. Great season.
Either write things worth reading, or do things worth writing.
millet, there's time for flowers though..
and you've got plenty of time for corn, it's not like we're not going to need it until like Thanksgivingish
ps, our first few rows will be silver queen again.
Oh, and two years in a row now
i know. i know.
its sad

I got my corn in Saturday and I'm planning on putting the sunflowers in at the end of May. I planted sunflowers at the beginning of May last year and they seemed to be a month early.
I left the strips of wheat that were "planted" back in October and November and they are heading out now. When they dry out, I'll mow them and I might put out a spin feeder to throw wheat during the summer to help encourage the local population. We have been feeding in the summer at the dove club and it really seems to help the first several hunts.
