I am surprised that any of you are surprised.

Maybe it is me, but the average American that I see on the street, television, etc. are either bat shit crazy or so dull witted that they can barely function.

It's like the guy who is out on a nice day riding his motorcycle 55 down the road and a Sophomore highschool girl pulls out in front of him while texting.

It all comes down to risk. How much are you willing to take or ignore...

If he was arrested then I would go bail him out and then shoot him in the face.

terrible but I'm kinda not surprised

Years ago a friend and his son were hunting on public land, the father was in a climber and the bottom fell to the bottom of the tree(forgot to tie it). He was in his 60's, hung in the stand by his armpits for about 2 hours, Couldnt reach his phone or radio to call his son who was hunting about 1/4 mile away. right at dark another hunter came by him and he asked the guy to help him and the guy said " what can I do?" and kept walking. His son came to get him and the guy was still parked there and never said a word, he went in, he found his father hanging, ran back and got his climber and the guy was gone. Climbed his stand bottom back up the tree and helped his father down. If his son would have ever found that guy later I would not have felt sorry for him. You never know on public land

Usually experience hunters doing something they have done dozens of time. Here a gobble then something walking toward them and never verify. Never think I cannot happen to you.

My buddy's shot a guy stalking up on his decoy wearing a red scarf like Jackie Bushman with a rope pouch to hold mouth calls. Except they too him to the ER. He cussed them all the way.

I heard dude that shot the other hunter “thought” he was shooting at a turkey and wasn’t charged. Can anyone confirm that? That is ridiculous. The story I heard was he put the bead on dudes face and “thought it was a turkey”.

I can’t think of a single scenario in my mind where I could possible end up shooting another person while hunting.

No, it couldn’t happen to anybody.

It happens when a dumbass decides to go hunting.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Clarification: Getting shot can happen to anybody regardless of experience. You can take plenty of preventative actions, but at the end of the day there are a lot of idiots out in the woods.

    Weird ain't it.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

How in the hell do you mistake a man’s face for a turkey? I can’t conceive of any way. He should be charged with attempted manslaughter at the least.

And he did not go to look for the bird, or in this case, the man? That doesn't sound right.
It's not enough to simply tolerate the 2nd Amendment as an antiquated inconvenience. Caring for the 2nd Amendment means fighting to restore long lost rights.
