First one!
It's been a fantastic year in the turkey woods but yesterday topped them all. My 5 year old has been bound and determined to kill a turkey. We've had a few close calls but yesterday it all came together. Bird only responded to me twice in 2 hours then suddenly broke loose and came our way on a string. I spotted him first, get ready he's coming, and his instant reply was, Daddy, why are you shaking? Moments later he found at why when he spotted him at 40 coming in fast through the open bottom. He quickly disappeared behind a large oak and i told him get ready and he lined up where I thought the bird should pop out. Pop out he did, at 10 yards. We had gone over several times if he's close, and i tell him to body shoot him to center punch him. 1 second after the words bodyshoot him came out my mouth he dumped him and the celebration started. He couldn't even keep his foot on the birds head he was jumping up and down fist pumping so much.
