    Default The Rut is On...?

Watched a buck breed a seemingly receptive and willing doe this evening.
Anyone else seen this behavior in the end of April before?

I am not an expert, but I've always heard if she wasn't bred she will continue to come in heat. Could be a bunch of bs. I never cared enough to really find out. 2f doc will let us know when he logs back in.

About 3-4 years ago, I watched a very large buck tend a scrape like it was October. He had no horns to speak of but looked to be swole with dripping tarsals. This was around the first week of April.

This one has about 3-4 inches of new velvet growth, and big, dark tarsals as well.

Fawns are dropped 12 months out of the year in SC. Scientific fact.

I saw a doe with two 30-40 pound fawns last week. Almost all spots were gone.

We saw 2 bucks with horns stuck together in south Georgia yesterday right off the side of I 95, also a sounder of hogs grazing beside the road

This wasn’t a late born dawn. It was a 110 lb mature doe.
