20210405_194225.jpg20210405_194513.jpg don't get me wrong, I love the fresh crisp air in the mountains and the views along the Blue Ridge Parkway when the leaves are changing. I love the smell of the ocean and the feel of pluff mud between my toes, but this view right here is slowly becoming my favorite..... looking out across Lake Murray.

Good view. And you don't have to pick just one, you can like them all.

Great view! Wont look like that on Saturdays before long. Man that lake gets rough from all the boat traffic. I remember the days of running around in a 14/36 jon boat as a kid out there. Them days are long gone.

Shit back in the 70s I could fish on that lake any weekend day and still have mostly to myself. Then all the damn Yankees move down here.

No, this has been in the family since it was built new in the late 50's early 60's. I think my uncle paid around $400 for about 2 acres plus the island off to the right side. Back then nobody wanted to live on the lake with the hicks. Sold part of it when my uncle started getting sick and rhe house that was built on it would rival most houses on Kiawah Island.

We sold out at the coast about 28 years ago and been on Murray for 29 with no regrets except what Labluver said. We up the river but everything is headed this way, QUICK

This was taken off the point by my place a few weeks ago. Murray has changed, certainly more crowded than it was in the 80s but always a special place.

I DO miss the salt air, the pluff mud, and all that goes with it. Mountains are great, but damn if I don't miss the coast. Don't get there enough

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!
