    Default Yard snake

    Big fat dead rattler.
My old lab stayed between me and the snake had to smack her to get a shot.
    Good dog.

After I posted last night, I realized my wife's dog had been bitten on her lower leg.
The only indication was 2 red spots on her white coat where the snake got her. It hadn't swollen and wasn.t effecting her so I cleaned it, put Neosporin on it and gave her a Benadryl.
It was tender to the touch but otherwise she acted fine- it was about an hour after the bite.
This morning she was full speed with no sign of being bit by big nasty.

I wonder if feist tried to kill it, they have a penchant for killing snakes.

The old yard cat has killed 2 rat snakes in the past two days and their stomach looked just like that one. Wonder if it's babies inside? Hind sight, I should've cut one open to see.

    Jake cannot stand an armadillo.

He only chases them if he sees them, doesn’t hunt for them by scent.
Kill a few every year during squirrel season, our club is loaded with them.

I have a video of Jake and his sister pulling one out of a hole and stretching it out in an epic game of tug-of-war.

I miss our Feist. They're awesome dogs and dang if they don't hunt.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!
