While that is true, it was originally requested by duck hunters for the improvement of public hunting opportunities in SC.

What Sportsmen didn't take into account back then was just how inept our government would become, or that national organizations would spend more effort making sure that they controlled every penny possible than they ever did making improvements at ground level...

The programs and government we have today are due to absentee ownership. Imagine owning a business and never setting foot inside it and just letting those who you hired run it. That is government. Zero oversight from the owners, us.

$5.50 probably went a lot farther back in the day. I know I haven't bought an actual duck print in many a year. One can only have so many dog/duck prints.

We are at war with anti-hunting and anti-gun groups.
DNR is on a slow drift towards non-comsumptive recreation.

    Our sport is worth saving.

Our cause is noble. Let's stick together an accomplish something.

My only problem with the bill is the increase cost of migratory permit.

Before the knee jerk reaction ask yourself, is it wiser to fund the most important state owned waterfowl habitat from duck hunter proceeds or be at the mercy of state funding? (long after I'm gone) If we do not support waterfowl hunting do we end up in fierce competition for control of the resources with non-consumptive recreational users?
