So I’ve seen an older law prohibiting generators in pawleys and Murrells inlet. Anybody know if this is still in effect? Can’t find anything in current regs so I assume generators are ok now?

not to side skirt you questions but LED technology has come a long way.
Lights are bright as heck and can run a bunch of them all night long on little 12V battery draw
no noise, no electricity on the water, fumes or gas to deal with
I hear ya ECU. I have underwater LEDs, but prefer the above water shop lights. Easier being mounted above the water in my opinion.

Pretty sure still not allowed to run generator.
We use 2 18in, and 2 36in cheap light bars from Amazon. They run for as long as we want to be out there on 2 12 volt batteries. Mounted them on 2x4’s which we clamp down along the gunnels. Makes them easy to move around based on which side of the bank we are going down and how many people are gigging.
Pawleys is closed for flounder this season
For some reason I thought you couldn’t gig at all up that way?? It has been awhile since I needed to read the rules but online there are 4 bullet point rules posted specifically on gigging and none of them prohibit what you are asking about aside from gigging in the day time (illegal) and then you wouldn’t use the generator anyways.
I know there are all sorts of proposals to changing limits, minimum size, and even possible season dates but as far as I know nothing has been passed.
Could always call DNR and ask. Good luck with that

I called DNR and got my answer. Was actually much easier than I anticipated. Always appreciate the thoughts of the SCducks brain trust though
