    Default Another KRT Question

2016 BMW X3 28i throwing a P0118 code(Coolant Temp Sensor). The question...Is this the sensor in the center on this picture and is that the only one?? Also, if it is, are there any pitfalls to screwing it out and screwing a new one in?? I have read a little about having to bleed the coolant system, but I don't know anything about that. Will t need to be done??
Thanks, in advance, for any help.

That is the coolant temp sensor. There is also on in the lower radiator hose. They both use the others reading for input. Most of the time the radiator hose one is used to control the cooling fan. Shoot me the last 7 of the vin and I can tell you which one to replace for sure.

You will not lose enough coolant to worry about bleeding the system.

Thanks a lot. I just hate taking something to the shop that I can fix myself.
The last 7 of the vin are D076024.
