This past deer season I came across several of these trees on a small pine tract. The trees were loaded, but I didn't see very much deer sign under/around them.

I'm not sure on this but look up asian pear. That looks similar to what we had on our property when we first bought it. They got between golf ball and baseball in size best I remember.

I looked it up and I think you hit it. The fruit and leaves seem to be identical to the dwarf nijisseiki pear. I also found a few "regular" pears trees on the front of the property.

Correct, but fruit don't look right to be a Callery pears to me.

Callery/Bradford pears are blooming white everywhere right now. You can see how many have gotten into the landscape driving down the road.

The fruit in my hand (I'm pretty sure) came from another tree a few yards away. Same kind of tree, just different colored fruit. I don't know what they look like when they bloom, but I know when the leaves turn they are a really bright yellowish orange and reddish orange. I may take a ride in the next day or two to see if they have bloomed yet.

You live on the wrong street

That's why I thought it was a crabapple at first, but most of the crabapples I've ever found in the wild grew more of a bush type than a big tall tree like these are.

I went back to look at these trees yesterday and I'm pretty sure that they are callery pears.
