    Default 2006 Ford F150 Lariat 4x4 5.4 291,000 miles Won't crank/Wont Start

Reaching out to KRT and any others the can help.
15 year old truck, I bought it used with 113,000 miles.

    Won't crank/ won't start, intermittent now,

    Here's what's been done:
Wouldn't crank or start at all on Wed 3/3 Checked fuses, all good. fuel pump cycles, relay clicks.
Just had the starter/solenoid replaced with brand new, not a rebuild replaced on 3/3. Starter was definitely bad. Started multiple times for the repair shop.
I went to pick it up at about 6pm on 3/3, Same problem.
Same repair shop looked at it in the morning and found 2 blown fuses the #34-15A PCM power & the #41-20A Cig lighter/DCP.
They replaced them and the truck started multiple times for them.

I picked it up in afternoon and it started right for me.
I went to my mom's to look at her HVAC. When i turn truck off and tried to restart, No deal, same problem
Looked at my mom's HVAC. I went back out started reading truck forums for options:

-I checked all the fuses and relays that appear to be associated with Starting, ignition, nothing blown
-pulled +wire off battery, knocked off and corrosion/Buildup (not much)
-Cycled through shifter, tried to start in N also.
-Crawled under checked new starter connections, looked good
-cycled my security system- no changed

I walked back in the house and came back out, with help to push out of way on my mom's driveway.
-Attempted to start, Fired right up
Drove home about 35min drive.. Shut off truck, tried to restart, nothing.
-Got up this morning, truck started right up. I let it run about 10min, shut off, wont start again.
-All power looks good, Battery is over 1/2 on dash gauge, lights and indicators dim only a fraction when
ignition turned on and battery gauge doesn't even move.
When truck does start does not hesitate.
Check engine light goes out like its supposed to when truck does start.
No issues while driving after it starts.

Looked up about symptoms of a Bad or going bad PCM and one of them is "won't start"
    Could that be it.

I had 2 identical f150 with sequential serial numbers, both trucks keys would work in the other truck in every way, except allowing the engine to start.

Sounds eerily similar to our 03 suburban.....

Long story short, but where the main harness connected to the computer (under dash above drivers feet), the pins had bad connections. Either corroded or bent.

Literally took years to figure it out....but did eventually get it fixed.

Maybe something to look into....good luck.

Does it turn over when it won't start? I'm assuming you turn the key and nothing happens

I never had this problem in the 8 years i had it. Till on Tuesday when the starter went out.

Did you try holding the positive and negative terminals together? Had an issue with my Tundra once where it would turn over and never fire. Held the terminals together and then cleaned the throttle body and she fired right up.

You changed the starter and then it started acting funny?

Check your connections to the starter.

Crank position sensor going bad? That was the problem with my 01 f150. The plug was behind the A/C compressor.

At the start of my problem, on Tuesday, truck did turned over about a half crank, then no crank, shop replaced starter, tested old starter and it was bad. With new starter it cranked and turned over for them. If it cranks it fires up. No hesitation. Problem is intermitten, i turn the ignition and all i get is the sound of fuel pump and relay click.
New starter connections are clean and tight.

Check and see if you have power at the small wire on the starter when someone is trying to start it. If you have 12 volts then the starter is bad. If you don’t, look into this Ford service bulletin.

no 12v present on the small wire when trying to start. Ordering the wiring pigtail. i hope the installation instructions a pretty straight forward.

Check the anti theft system. If it's anything like the PASSLOCK system that chevy has, that could be your problem.

Ford uses PATS (passive anti theft system) it disables fuel not power to starter on this particular model
    More fuel = more boost!!
