Need help finding an old truck.
My dad sold a family truck “Mean Green” ~30 years ago to a guy living near Lancaster or Kershaw...anyway, I’m trying to run it down...this time I have the Serial Number from the original bill of sale back in 1966. Does anyone on here know how to use a vin to track down a truck owner or have access to someone who can use this vin to figure out who currently owns the truck or when it was last registered etc?
I found a guy in town with a 1966 long-bed that he took the body off and put on a 1965 c20 4x4 frame, and it looks pretty dang good and like a longer version of “Mean Green.” I’ve been looking for years to try to get a replacement for the truck, and this is as close as I’m going to get. This is also the first time I’ve found someone that might be willing to sell. I’m trying one more time to find the original before pulling the trigger on this one, even if it’s a pile of rust in a field. Mean Green had a killer steel back bumper with the name of grand-dads dealership etched in it, and a front winch bumper like no other with a steel igloo water cooler and a 20,000 lb PTO winch operated from inside the truck. Inside the truck was a Dixie Cup (cone paper cups) dispenser mounted on the passenger windshield pillar and a steel oscillating fan on the dash. Even if Mean Green is dead in a field, I’d pay good money to get those bumpers.
Anyway...thanks for any help with this.
“I can’t wait ‘till I’m grown” is the stupidest @!#* I ever said!
