    Default Lowrance vs Humminbird

Lowrance Elite FS 9 or Humminbird Helix 9 Mega SI.

Which one is your pick? What are pros and cons for each. Looking to upgrade the console graph.

FWIW, I have a 2 year old humminbird that got wet in a heavy downpour 1 time, 2 years old so out of warranty, and no longer works. I’d go with the lowrance. I liked the humminbird before it crapped out though. It is the helix 7.

I’ve always had Lowrance and had pretty good luck with it but always felt like their support wasn’t very good. I’ve got a new boat coming so I’ve been doing my homework and have been in contact with Humminbird and was really impressed with their support. So I’ve ordered Humminbird matched with Minnkota on the new boat. I don’t use side image but I use down imaging a lot and I like their mega imaging. We will see how this new setup works when I pick the boat up in a couple weeks. Their sure is a lot of electronics and potential for problems not to mention the cost.

    Nope.

Hummingbird has better sides can. Lowrance has better sonar, downscan, and mapping.

Cmaps are the most accurate maps available. The lakes have actually been mapped,....not copied from an old map book. Cmaps do not work with Hummingbird......just Lowrance.

Here's an example of Lowrance DI,sides can, sonar, and mapping.

You can get a Lowrance Elite 9 TI2 for 599 right now at bass pro that's 400 off. Its last years model if that matters. It comes with the Acitive Image 3&1 trans.

Pretty sure they are sold out and you can't backorder them.

    Ford vs Chevy.

I’ve always used humminbird with no issues. I also like the way it networks to my minnkota trolling motor.

I ordered mine from Cabelas two weeks ago when they were sold out and they shipped it to the store . The local Bass Pro here in Raleigh had 18 of them at the store on Friday.

If anyone was interested. If you call BPS they are able to order the Elite 9 TI-2 whereas the website gives you an error saying its out of stock or unable to order.
