Rita's, The Washout, and Lost Dog Cafe are great food places. I've heard good things about Snapper Jack's and Jack of Cups but I've never eaten there.

I second the Bohemian Bull, and can't go wrong with Low Down Oven & Bar (LDOB), up the road on James Island.

    “Amazing”

It’s like, I can’t believe how amazing that burger is...even though I’ve never eaten one

Bowens Island. I liked the original spot right well and then it burned down. The new structure over the water is nice. Food is generally good grease. The boys, when they were younger, liked it quite a bit. Just haven't been back in the area.

It is on the right before you reach Folly Beach. Cold beer.

If you get a date night with the wife and can dump the kids, ride over to Johns Island and eat at the Wild Onion. It's right on Maybank Road. It may be my favorite restaurant in the tri-county area. Probably need reservations.

Pre-Covid, Lost Dog Cafe had a pretty dang good Bloody Mary bar. Self serve. Good mix and plenty of add ons. Bacon, celery, fresh horseradish, olives, pretty much anything you might want to drop in the jar. $3.00

Why is everyone so food obsessed these days? It has ruined Charleston.

Yep, it's Wild Olive. There was another place in West Ashley called Green Onion and it sticks in my head. Wild Olive is the parent restaurant of Obstinate Daughter on Sullivan's Island, another good restaurant.

Tattooed Moose farther down Maybank Hwy has some kick-ass sandwiches. Their signature is the Duck Confit Club but their pastrami Reuben is pretty killer too.

Ain't nothing new about it. When Johnson and Wales was in town, the F&B industry really took hold. Trying new great restaurants in Charleston has long been a hobby for a lot of folks that live here.

I am 50. When I was young there was one nice restaurant- Henrys. I would have to say that Magnolias was on the cusp of the restaurant craze which was during the J & W presence. This crap didn't start until the 80's. So, in my opinion that is new considering the age of the City.

On a list of things that have ruined Charles Towne, good food isn't sniffing the top...
