Default Charleston Harbor Bluebills, Redheads and Cans.

Took a gander around the harbor yesterday from Alhambra. The conditions were pretty foggy with the viz being around maybe 500 yards. In about a half hour I counted @ 500 Bluebills, @ 100 redheads and 20 Canvasbacks just in the inside channel to Shem Creek.

It's pretty well known that they show up in this spot around this time but the log book says this is the most I have seen in the last five years in this little area. It was pretty foggy so I am guessing there were a good bit more smattered around the harbor as well that I couldn't see. Glad to see them.

A February hunt at patriots point would produce a very sexy strap.

    So, 620 ducks constitutes something??

I can show you 620 ducks from my back porch. That’s without opening the sliding glasss door.

Well looky here, right indeed , I chuckled my friend.

Nah, Sprig, you're right, it doesn't show much at all , other than a little hope that a few waterfowl still remember how to get to SC, I reckon. I can show you a lot more from my other porch as well. Big ole tasty wild mallards but alas, it's not here in SC either. Glad you got your boy out there, he is a pretty daggum good young man in my opine.

Actually, I’d have to cut some trees down to see them. Those suckers sure are loud with a south wind though!
