    Default 6.5 Grendel for deer.

Anybody got any experience with this caliber on deer? If so, what are your thoughts?

Perfect gun for kids. My daughter is 13 and been shooting one for the last 6 years. Between the 2 of us it’s killed 30-35 deer. Most are DRT with a high shoulder shot. Have had a few go 50-60 yards. AR platform with 123 grain SST. Friend has a 4 year old that has killed 4 this year wit one. He’s using the ELDX bullet.

I shoot one. Great gun killed about 10 or so with it. 123gr hornadys do a number on them. The furthers kill was 280 yards

I've shot a few with mine. All recovered after a short run. I've used the 123 grain Hornady SST load, the Alexander Arms load with the 129 gr SST, and am now playing with the Nosler load with the 129 Long Range Accubond. Hard to find ammo for at the moment, but it is a pleasant gun to shoot.

I've got one in an AR and it is my favorite deer gun. Hornady 123 SST. Furthest was 275 yards.

6.8 SPC is a comparable cartridge and may be worth a look too. They are pretty similar in performance but ammo availability might tip the scales one way or the other.

Not to hijack, but someone else mentioned this caliber being comparable to the 6.8spc. We have been 100% on finding deer with ours, the longest having run less than 100 yards, but have yet to get an exit on 10+ deer. Shoulder shots have been DRT, but anything behind the shoulder has led us on a bit of a search, which is obviously more difficult without an exit. Does anyone have a favorite bullet for the 6.8?
