Headed up to Southern MD (Western Shore) Sunday night, hunted Monday-WEdnesday mornings. There were absolutely no ducks (besides Oldsquaws, Buffleheads and mergies) in any #'s, what was there had been shot at for weeks, so we focused on the geese. The county I was in was holding 75,000-100,000 greater Canada's. We hunted fields and private ponds, limited every day by 9:00. 3 days, 26 geese.
Days 1 and 3 we sat and watched over 1,000 geese poor into the fields after we got out. I was hoping to get on the divers, but it was damn good fun whacking the geese, nothing prettier than watching them lockup 200 yards away, cutting air the whole time.
Pic isn't great, but here's my Day 3 birds (my pop let me shoot his limit too) The background is the lower Potomac and Virginia in the distance..
