Been a screwed up last year for sure with the death of my dad in Oct and my 78 yo mom having Covid during Christmas among other things my stress level has been high. Didn’t get to hunt a much and out west was a slow start. Hunted here a little more and had some good hunts. Kinda glad it’s over but will miss it in a few days. For now it’s time to chase a turkey and hope the border is open in September

I'm very sorry to hear of your family challenges. I am also reminded by your awesome pictures that I should be more thankful that God has given us the opportunity to enjoy such a fine sport. God bless!

My dad is the reason I am a duck hunter. Even though at 88 years old he couldn’t go I truly missed his daily calls this season to see how we did.

    Dwayne,

My sincere condolences on the loss of your Dad. It is a tough row to hoe. I think about mine every day. Like you, my Dad brought me up as a bird hunter. Changed my life and sent me to many places I would never have seen . Looks like a really great year all things considered. Hoping that better days are ahead. Soon, we will be standing in the dark listening to a Gobbler burn it down and making a step towards a new memory. Thanks for posting such great photos.

I was really disappointed me and Keith couldn't make it out there. With me starting a new job and them having a new family member it just wasn't in the cards. He said y'all did well there at the end.

Hoping next year will let up a little.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

Glad it all got better. Enjoyed the updates for sure. I know that you will miss your old man and that you will be thinking of him when you hear the splash of that first decoy hitting the water next fall...
