    Default Very bad day

I hate the last day...just as bad now as when I was 7.

I deal with the last day of duck season by not going duck hunting.
Not sure when was last day I didn’t hunt? Jan 10th maybe..
Not sure if SC is doing a Veterans Day, but I get to kill ducks next Saturday. Also coincides with the opening of our late 40 day goose season.
I will mope and pout all week though.

Yup, we're doing it on Feb 6th and 13th. I'll hopefully be somewhere next Saturday. If not shooting myself then at least making sure a youth or veteran/current military member is getting some action.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

Since I got a boat(that will run) I keep saying I’m gonna get better at inshore fishing. I just can’t find the fire for it though

Everything is better when you've got a base tan.

When I was working, the folks at worked ignored me first 2 weeks of February.
Hunted ducks 79 days. Next Saturday will be 80.
    Still freaking miserable

I started thinking about turkeys on the way home from the last hunt as usual.

Our Veterans Day hunt dates are the 13th and 14th down here in California. They get a two week break and then I’m going to smash’em hard again! LOL
Living in Moncks Corner but looking forward to moving back to the West Coast in 2020 where there are more ducks and less duck hunters!! LOL

How hard you think they will look for those military ID’s? Haha

What kind of temp and time you grill those whole birds?

I rub them down with a spice called Applewood Smoked Bacon(McCormicks)
Set pellet grill to 180 degrees. Roughly 1.5 hours at 180. Just for the smoke.
Or until internal temp hits 110ish.
Remove from grill. Crank to 375.
Return and pull when internal temp is 128ish.
Probably less than 15 minutes on the high heat.
It has truly become one of my favorite meals.
I only pick birds with white fat, not yellow. Yellow fat just doesn’t do it for me.
I also have a cold box attached that doesn’t get above 100degrees.
This bird was on there for 4 hours before I put on high heat.
