Baines finished a 22 year career with just shy of 2900 hits. I know it's not the 3000 hit club but only 25 or so players achieved that milestone over the entire history of baseball. That in itself puts him in pretty good company.
I had to Google some of the stats not gonna lie. But in his defense, he was voted in by the players, not the press. And I'm ok with that. I don't know the guy of course, but if his peers apparently he did something right.
Some of his standing records were broken in the last decade by the likes of David Ortiz and Edgar Martinez.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

Same here, my problem with the “steroid era” was MLB knew it was going on and ignored it since at the time MLB was struggling ratings wise Fans love the HR and that brought them back
Hell I recall one interview with Mark Mcguire when you could see the bottle of stuff his was using in his locker
I know it added to HR totals but still takes a lot of talent to hit like that, Bonds would have been in either way
Heck even Roger Clemons is never going in , one of the most dominating pitchers ever to throw a ball
But then again I am still waiting on Pete Rose to go in as well
Heck OJ is still in the NFL HOF, I would certainly classify what he did as much worse than taking steroids
