    Default Louisiana annual trip

I've been blessed to take this same trip for the last 25 years. I have friends that live there and one of them owns his own camp on private property. I have been taking my nephews for the past couple of years and this year was a good one. We managed to find the birds hunting all public land and did pretty well. We even got after the hogs on the levee a couple of days and managed to kill 13 of them. Good times were had and good food was eaten and am looking forward to next year. My nephew was even able to kill a banded Green Wing teal for an added bonus.

    Jealous
“Duck hunting gives a man a chance to see the loneliest places …blinds washed by a rolling surf, blue and gold autumn marshes, …a rice field in the rain, flooded pin-oak forests or any remote river delta. In duck hunting the scene is as important as the shooting.” ~ Erwin Bauer, The Duck Hunter’s Bible, 1965

When in doubt, shoot him again!

Work like it's all up to me, but pray, like it's all up to him!

Great to see Mallards in Louisiana. Must be up North... Great photos of a fine trip. What was on the food menu?? Fried Crappie sounds local.. and great right about now.
