Pardon me for not being in tune with current issues but I keep seeing all this crap about the Keystone Pipeline.

Exactly what is POTUS reason for stopping it ??

Got a client that is union pipewelder that knows quite a few guys working on this project, he was scheduled to work on it but took a job some where else (these guys are on road for months at a time )

Indians are pretty much opposed to anything they didn't think of first.

I thought the final route had been revised so as to not go through actual reservation territory. No?

We will still get the fuel that would pass through that pipeline- the big difference is that we will use Democrat donor Warren Buffets train network to deliver it.

Again, don't be used. The Keystone Pipeline is up and running today and will be tomorrow.

What the new administration did was cancel a proposed new branch of it, known as the Keystone XL. While speculative construction was underway, the permits were not in place and not a drop of oil had come close to being moved through it.

This is the perfect example of how Americans are being used on both "sides".

The hippies all think that the pipeline is STOPPED and all that dirty old oil isn't flowing South anymore. Yay environment!

Conservatives are all running around wailing about the pipeline being STOPPED and all that rich creamy oil being trapped up in Canada where we can't get it. Boo hippies!

Both are completely false narratives like most everything else these days...

Exactly... with more spill risk involved, along with higher costs.

Also true and a very dangerous way to transport that highly explosive Alberta crude around.

Excellent point, JABIII. That's the routing debate I was referring to, but haven't looked at in a long time.

If said Indians were getting paid they’d christen it their spirit pipeline and dance on the path.

Problem with any media is they are so slanted one side or the other. Nobody is like Walter Cronkite anymore and just gives you the facts and moves on. Guess that is why I do not watch much news anymore at all

Keystone XL was being built to allow transport of of the nasty stuff being produced by the oil sands processing (tar sands mining) in northern Alberta. This oil costs near $50 / barrel to mine and process so it's not viable currently so the only reason to finish it would be looking to the future. The pipeline was to be utilized for the most part by TC Energy (old TransCanada) which is very strong politically in Texas (Houston) oil circles. The real reason Obama shut it down in 2012 when oil was nearly $100/barrel though was not really environmental, it was because the Canadians were/are being forced to utilize the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad to ship it ($20/barrel). It just happens to be owned by Berkshire Hathaway and Warren Buffet who contributed significant money to his campaign. While working on these deals Berkshire decided to buy the Canadian electrical transmission company that provides the electricity to the Oil Sands so they win either way, no dummies here. This stuff is harder to clean up than pumped oil when it spills so environmentalists have a good point. JAB is right about all this and things are never as they seem. When smoke is being blown, look elsewhere cause well tended hot fires don't make smoke..........
