    Default Trees for Privacy Screen

Looking to plant trees on a piece of property to use as a privacy screen along the road frontage. After researching, Japanese cedar seems to be more resilient than the leyland cypress.

Anybody used these and know where to get them? What kind of spacing should I be looking at between each tree?

Murray Cypress is another option. Supposed to be more disease resistant than the leyland also.

Don’t plant a dang leyland. ‘Green Giant’ Arborvitae is an option too. Wax Myrtle is a good option if you don’t want your yard to look like a Christmas tree farm.

Don't plant Eastern Red Cedar. I made the mistake of doing that...they grow slower than a cypress tree.

The giant green arborvitae I planted a few years ago and have been pleased. Good growth and great border. I planted larger ones already 12-15 ft tall so it was instant border. Planted I think 7 feet or so apart. They’ve grown together now.

What is your soil type and drainage situation where they will be planted? Will it be full sun?
