Only left hand one ive ever seen unless you build one from a fullsize gun.

I had the same predicament. Buy a left handed benelli m2 and purchase a montefeltro youth stock and use it until they grow into the adult stock. that doesnt solve your barrel length problem though

Make sure he's left eye dominant as well as left handed before ordering.

Have you considered going with a cheaper o/u for a starter gun. Not sure really what is available in a youth type model, but it takes the left handed out of the equation. Stoeger makes a youth model 20 that’s abt what you want size wise retail is like $450. Not the nicest but would be a starter gun

he is tiny so im worried about the weight of a double. have also considered the few youth model pumps that eject from the bottom

I understand what you are saying on the weight. Coming from a fellow left hander I stated with an old 1100 youth model right handed gun. Really wasn’t bad shooting the right handed gun. Did get a little powder in my face from time to time before I figured out how to shoulder and shoot correctly. I still shoot a right handed auto the few times I shoot an auto. I shoot an o/u or side by side 95% of the time now though. I just prefer to shoot them over an auto.

Stevens 555 is gonna be hard to beat from a o/u perspective. The guns 5lbs w/ a 24" barrel and reduced LOP at 13". Now bear in mind 13" really isn't that "short". I'm short at 5'7" and my LOP is barely 13". I can only imagine that's still too long for many kids. You can always pull a trick from my book and cut it down further then cap it with a grind to fit limbsaver pad. Get it close as you can and begin with a low profile GTF pad, then when he grows you can always add more LOP by getting a thicker pad.

But alas, 5 lbs is still light for a shotgun, you go any lighter than that if he's that little it's gonna tear his shoulder out the socket. A 20ga that light with some Winchester AA Low Recoil loads should do pretty well from a recoil aspect.

Good luck finding a 20ga BPS with short barrel and reduced LOP.

It’s not what you asked for but you could have the stock cut and they are lighter than some of the youth autos I’ve seen. Also I’ve seen more than one lefty shoot a right handed auto. Not ideal but either option could get you by till he grows a little.

There are no quality youth left hand semiautos. My boys are right handed but left eye dominant. I bought a Browning Micro BPS 20 ga. When they grew I bought them Benelli M2 left hand.

A "youth" gun just features a slightly shorter stock and usually slimmer forearm. Forearm usually isn't an issue, but the stock being too long certainly can be. Conveniently pretty much any stock can be cut. Let's not make this harder than it is gents.

pump guns could be considered lefties.

and discussing hand dominance is silly.

Not when we're deciding which one I'm gonna slap you with.

ETA; Don't overlook single shots. Teaches a lot of trigger discipline and fits the ambidextrous bill also.
