Lakes guntersville didn’t provide the ducks in numbers, but it did provide a chance for destroying a 5 generation family of coots, alright whacker time to try that recipe

    Good work!

season and sear meat in a hot oiled skillet. Reduce heat to medium add minced garlic and butter. Cook till meat is medium rare. Serve alone or with rice.

I’ve heard plenty of people say they are terrible, but I can’t find many that have tried it. Urban legends are meant to be tested. I’ve heard people say they are good. We have gotten several recipes, marinades we gone find out for ourselves , I’ll report on the findings

I am interested to hear the results myself out of curiosity.
Years ago we had some and gave them away. Told the guy we had some ducks for him....
He got them and said: that aint duck, that coot. Coot eat better than duck.

How many people have to tell y'all it's good before you try it? Serious question. I, along with many others, already know what y'all are missing.

Give us an honest evaluation. I may whack a few if there is some redeeming value in the breast meat.

I read a study from some university where they studied digestive tract etc and basically said they taste the same as puddle ducks. Doubt anyone would tell the difference if you mixed them in.

    They taste fine to me..

I've had it and it was good. It was in a legit gumbo cooked by some real Cajun boys who were employees of Tabasco. I doubt most could tell it from a duck. They called it "pouldue", pronounced "pool do".

They usually aren't much sport to shoot, except for the challenge of trying to hit them while they're still airborne.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
