    Default Lots of work!!

With blue skies, warm temps, and zero wind it took us all day to get it done. Started out in a freshwater natural marsh club in an XFowler blind. The hope was for a cinnamon teal to get close enough to us for Jr to check one off the list. We only saw a pair of the little red birds from our floating blind but killed a few GWT and a nice pintail drake!

Around 10am we decided to pull the plug on that hunt. We knew the wigeon would be flying in the afternoon at my salt marsh blind and decided to head that way after grabbing some Jersey Mike’s for lunch. Didn’t take long to switch properties as they are only about 35min away from one another. Set out a pretty large spread of around A hundred and got down to start our afternoon. It was no barn burner but we had a number of birds that were ready and willing to come in and take a look! By the end of shooting time we had managed to scratch together a limit of one pintail, one gadwall, a pair of canvasbacks, four wigeon, and the rest GWT.

I’m beat and not young enough to pull those all day hunts with all that walking, paddling, and push poling!!! LOL

That is pretty funny! I'm sure we could work something out if you're willing to "smuggle" in a few cases of shells for me! LOL I'm down to a case plus a couple random boxes right now to last me through the end of the season. My wife is ice fishing in Minnesota currently and is going to bring back three boxes of steel shot with her (the airline only allows 11lbs of ammo per person) which will be a help! If my base would ever relax my COVID-19 100 mile maximum travel restriction that I currently am under I could drive over to Nevada and try to get some ammo there. Hopefully it will go away before this summer as the wife and I are planning on traveling to Texas for a bass tournament and my plan is to bring back 10 cases or so if I can find it to last us through the next three years.

We are headed back out this weekend to try it again. I think we're going to stick to hunting a tidal salt marsh where the teal have been thick. Not as exciting as shooting the big ducks but it's easy hunting and they are my favorite to eat anyway. Jr wants to take his girlfriend again so I may break out the big camera rig and take the dog to try and concentrate more on pics and just let the two of them blaze away at birds. When my wife gets home we'll add another element to the documentation by carrying the drone. She took it with her to film her adventures on the ice since this is her first time fishing from an ice shanty.
