1980 Mustang. Motor ran fine when we test drove it. On the way home it started smoking. Dropped it off at the shop for a new motor on the way home. This is just a photo I found on line of the same paint scheme car. Bogged it down several times. Bought my first truck a few months after graduation.

Same. Mine was black. I only ever got stuck twice- both times me and my buddy got out and picked the rear end up and set it out of the hole.

68 Chev Nova. Paid $300 for it. Had about 5 different colors on it. I could see the road through the floor.

2000 Ford Ranger Extended cab 2wd, my uncle sold it to me. That truck would get stuck in loose gravel. Sank it once, cranked it back up and it’s still running today. Added a Reese hitch on the back and was great for towing the boat around as long as I had a concrete boat landing. It was my first truck and 4 of my cousins drove it for their first vehicles after. Sometimes I miss that truck.

96 Bronco, same colors as my high school and I've still got it. The girlfriend likes it, but doesnt like it taking up her spot in the garage.

1993 Chevy S10. Single cab, jet black. Fun little truck but I’m 6’ ft 5” so it didn’t last long before upgrading.

I'd really have to do some digging to find a picture of the 1987 (I think) single cab, long bed Ford Ranger, if I even have one! It was dark blue, 5 speed with a 4 cyl... it was dubbed "The Power Ranger" by my buddies. It did the job. It was my big brother's sloppy seconds but I was ok with that.

Funny now that I think about it. As I get older I hate loud cars. My first vehicle was a CJ5 that we swapped out for a 360 with headers and side pipes. It was so loud it would make other cars' alarm systems chirp when idling through a parking garage. Between ages 16 and 21 I had 4 different CJs. Would love to snag another and fix it up one day.

Remember Hinkles jeep sales well, my older brother bought a brand new 78 CJ5 from them I believe. We had the best times ever in that thing, top stayed off almost the whole summer. Had a 6 cylinder engine, wrangler tires. Thing would go almost anywhere.

From what I recall the I-6s in those Jeeps were built proof.

This thread made me give my first vehicle some love, it hasn’t been driven much in several years. Added new lights all the way around, 15x8 rally wheels, newer style black mirrors, tint and ditched the toolbox and added bed rail caps. Been a fun little project this week.

What year?? That looks exactly like the truck I had when I went in the Marines. Of course, I sold it when I left, but I loved that truck. Mine was a 1990 that I ordered with a 5-speed transmission. Same wheels, same(I think) drop shackles, and same color. That picture was like a flash-back.
