    Not out west, but me and two of my buddies leased a 500 acre farm in Kentucky for the upcoming season. Pretty excited about it.

    Let’s forget about antlers and tags and points for a minute...

    If someone were interested in going west, sitting atop a fine horse and listening to a pack of hounds run a mountain lion up a tree, then shooting said cat out of the tree with a lever action rifle in some .30cal variety, what state would be best to look at?

    Anyone on here ever done a hunt like that?

    My wife drew a good elk tag. First rifle mid October in NM.
    I drew a November muley tag.

    Good start to draw season.

    Add Utah to the list.

    Look at the Whitaker Bros . They have high success rates. They do hunts like you are interested in from CO and NM. One of my friends killed a thumper cat with them. Said it exceeded his expectations.

    Waiting on Wyoming Elk results. Hopefully I’ll be hunting the southern Bighorns in Oct. If I don’t draw elk, speed goats and mulies in WY.
