Didn’t need it. They were up to day when we got them in October. I plugged them in to check, but all were up to date.

How hard is it to update the firmware on the tactacam? Mine is in a food plot right behind the house. I've got all mine set to send 2 times a day at 10am. The stealth cam never skips, the link evos rarely skip, the tactacam will go 2 days sometimes without sending then work perfectly for 3-4 days

Stay away from spypoint! I’m actually looking to replace mine as we speak.

As long as the camera accepts the update that doesn't seem too bad. That is the same concept with the spypoint link micros. However more times than not I would do this and go back and the firmware hadn't changed. Plus you were dealing with tiny micro sd cards. The evo takes more steps but tends to accept the updates on the first try

I have been using 2 - Tactacams since their release. Over 6000 pictures on each and still on first set of batteries. No issues with mine. Excellent cameras.

What’s the monthly cost/camera (avg) on cell cams?

Between myself and a few other friends we are running 10 spartans and 8 coverts.

We had one issue on one spartan and they replaced it no questions asked.

Can't say anything bad about either one.

Tactacam is $13/month unlimited and $12/camera after that.

I let mine send pictures real time and have had no issues at all.

Tactacam is no longer making the original model and they were already hard to find before they stopped. They will coming out with a new model but I think the price is going up.

No issues here either with thousands of pictures.

Have you pulled the card and compared though. I pulled on last night and had pictures on the card that did not send as well.

My understanding is they will be roughly the same price. Still a cost efficient camera less than $150

Yep several times over last 2 months. Just did it yesterday as I was packing cameras away into storage. Right before I suspended my subscription.

Some company needs to take the idea that Cuddeback has with the Cuddelink mesh network (one data line - multiple networked cameras) and work the bugs out of it. That's what I'm waiting for.

Was about to say the same thing.

You would need a deep cycle marine battery to keep it running...

And I tried the Fusion batteries this year on a few non cellular cameras. The don't seem to last like a duracell.
