Default Looking for silent deer feeder

Anyone have experience with the auger style feeders? They are supposed to be quiet. Looking to replace a couple older spin style feeders

They discontinued the Moultrie one if that says anything.

They are quiet though which is nice. I had two but the feeder is only 6.5 gallons so I’d retrofit on a bigger bucket. They can get gummed up so you need to check them every so often

I’ll be curious on responses because I could use something like this. My deer will avoid a loud or visible feeder at all costs

Banks and close thread. We’ve ran them all. The banks gravity feeder is the best one on the market. Get the 600# and Mount it on a 6x6. Wrap the 6x6 in metal so the coons can’t climb it. I have a few 300# units that are going on season 3 and have zero varmint damage. Recently started buying the 600s and they are just as nice

I want to pull the trigger on a few of these. How long did it take your deer to start using them?

At least a month. I’d put them out in January if you’re wanting to hunt them next year. I put them out then throw corn all around them. They get eaten on eventually. We’re completely done buying the 1200# boss bucks. The banks is a better feeder.

Cool. My deer behind the house would likely eat at them the same night. The deer in Chester are gonna need some convincing. How long does the 600lb typically last? And are y'all hunting over them?

My place in Montgomery has the most queer deer of any place I’ve hunted. It takes them forever to get on anything new. A 600 will last 8 weeks +\- if it’s getting eat on regular. Not having varmints raking it out saves a ton of feed.

Another vote for the Banks feeders. Either sink a post in the ground or cut a small tree leaving 5’ sticking up and it will slide over the top.

Were y'all able to buy the Banks feeders locally or did you have to order them?

I ordered online and had them on the porch in 2 days. Sportsman guide I think.

They run $285ish for feeder unit. Someone needs to build one and sell them here
