Coughing? I’ve heard deer sneeze more than a few times this year.

Ah. Thought you were joking. Never heard that, just the sneeze or throat clearing, like cattle do.

When I bought a FoxPro game caller many years ago, I decided to have a little fun with it. I put the unit under our bed and my wife came in and sat down on the bed reading a book. I set it to "Bobcat in heat" and turned the volume up. When it went off, my wife jumped about 3 feet high and ran from the room screaming that our cats were fighting under the bed. We both shared a good laugh after I showed her what caused the sound. I have had some fun with that thing over the years at hunt camp also.
I only hunt on days that end in "y"!

All the ones I did last year had them in it. Haven't seen any bots in any this year. Don't have a clue how one buck could smell there were piles of them in him.

At times I have seen the same. Completely infested with them. Made me wonder how they could use their noses at all with a few.

Maybe that's why you're seeing them in dead deer, because they can't smell.
