Thread: Thanx for NOTHING DNR

This is directed to those specific people at DNR (you know who you are) that think they know more about waterfowl than the rest of the country.

You remember those 10 little extra days YOU swiped from the duck hunters of South Carolina?

Look at us now. WE are missing what will probably amount to the best overall week of duck season we have had in 5 years. The ducks are here. We could be blistering the greenheads this week.

It's the weather stupid! Smoke and mirrors won't get ducks to SC. Snow and ICE will. It really isn't rocket science folks.

Every other state in the union took the days offered them by the Feds. But noooooo. Not good old South Carolina. We are going to act like assbackward idiots and do some feelgood do-nothing "reduction in days" to please a small segment of your constituency.

Some will say that it is good that the ducks are "resting" after getting here. That only helps the big-boys. The scouters will run them all to the duck ponds before the public hunter gets to fire a shot.

Duck hunters want to hunt ducks while they are coming in on the fronts. YOU have robbed all of us both public and private of that. The difference is, the private will still get their shots.

Oh but we do miss you Carroll.

Most people I know are holding a great many ducks at the moment but are scared shitless their food will not make it till the opener... if history proves correct they are right and the ducks will pull out a few days before the season comes in again.... oh well....

I have never seen a flock eat a whole rice mat, much less ten of them.

My spot will hold the ducks and I can call them in. 7 days until the coup de gra.

That may be, but the ducks won't. At least not on public water.

And ther ain't nobody scouting where I'm at because we ain't got no ducks
I am sure that is true since you run a mudmotor and can't get out of the main runs where a mallard might be anyway. The ducks are here, you just won't ever see them.

Yeah look at ALL you have accomplished by running your mouth to the DNR board, Nad.

The ducks are here. We can't hunt them. It is a travesty.

as Rita Cosby would say-- my sources tell me that the ducks are here in abundance--- will they still be here a week from now? Will there be 3 times the numbers here now?

No matter what I am sure they will not be here long--Our luck it will probably warm up again and they will head back north before season reopens-- I would love to be warming a barrel in weather like this--
WIth all the GLOBAL WARMING Chicken LIttle has been screaming about you think they would push the start date further back to more adaptable weather.

I feel more like a cornholed dumbass than a sportsman with less days-- Why cant we start the SC season around Jan 23rd --I may not see as many teal but I wont be swatting as many skeeters either and may get a chance to wear a warm coat-- Duck hunting--It aint about the duckhunter is it.
