    Default Drilling a gun safe

A friend lost his combination to the gun safe. He called the manufacture to get the number. What a damn hassle. The SO had to to come out to his house and verify owenership and then run the safe serial number through the system to see if it was stolen. Then...the sheriffs department had to send a letter to the manufacturer saying everything was cool. For a fee of $29 they then gave my buddy the combination. My buddy still couldn't get into the safe to he called a locksmith.

Locksmith comes out this morning, drills the safe to get access and all is good. Turns out the combo from the manufactuer was wrong. The locksmith says that happens a lot. Total repair time about an hour, cost $390

Listen to your elders. Not because they are always right but because they have more experiences of being wrong.

That’s why you keep combinations in secure location.

My dad has had to call on more than one occasion for his combination.

Yeah no shit, if the dial had been screwed up that would’ve been another $300.

    “A friend” huh?

How damn scatter brained do you have to be to lose the combination to your gun safe?

Outside of a condition such as dementia or alzheimers, how is that even possible?

What sort of dumbass forgets the combo to his safe? Sheriff should have shot him in the leg just as a reminder to be a better citizen...

I write my combination down on a sticky note and paste it on the inside of my safe door for safekeeping.

Well he rarely goes into the safe and had it written down but his wife apparently threw it away during her extreme housecleaning rage.
