It's 35 degrees outside, and that makes me want to throw up.

Wish I was in a deer stand right now. But I gotta make the donuts. Maybe this afternoon if the wind is down.

I am in a deer stand and the wind is no joke.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. -Tecumseh-

23°, 1”+ on the ground, still coming down hard.

I’m “deer” hunting, in my truck, with the heater on, overlooking a field. Too damn cold to sit in a ladder stand, and I don’t have any box stands.

Makes me want to sit in a duck blind...............
“Duck hunting gives a man a chance to see the loneliest places …blinds washed by a rolling surf, blue and gold autumn marshes, …a rice field in the rain, flooded pin-oak forests or any remote river delta. In duck hunting the scene is as important as the shooting.” ~ Erwin Bauer, The Duck Hunter’s Bible, 1965

I’m about 7 miles from that camera. Looks like we got a little more. I haven’t been into town today.

I still haven't seen telltale flocks of blackbirds in the fields. However, we did have a hard frost here last night. Maybe the blackbirds let me down this year. Or maybe I let them down.......

Had a field full of blackbirds in front of the house this past weekend.
