I’ll testify for the Vortex as well. I like mine!
I got the Nikon Monarch 5 in 10x42 to keep in the truck. They’re pretty nice for 300 bucks. Nikon does make the Monarch 7 that runs about 500. I would assume it’s better glass quality, but I have not yet looked at them.
I’ve been looking in same price range and just picked these up https://www.opticsplanet.com/styrka-...binocular.html ...best deal I found
I have a pair of these that I always take in the deer stand. They aren't great for light gathering but are the sharpest binoculars I've ever looked through and they pack small and light.

I've got a pair of Nikon Monarch 3 10x42's that I've been fairly impressed with for their low cost, other than a consistent light shadow at the lower edge of the view.
Their Monarch 5's or 7's ought to be worth checking out.

Appreciate all the recommendations! I have a new pair of Vortex that I will be listing soon in the Trading Post. I'll see if I can lay my hands on a few of the recommended ones mentioned.
Thanks
