    Default Home Defense Firearm Storage

Our oldest is getting to the age where he is curious and can figure out most ‘baby’ proof type stuff. Figured I would check on here to see what y’all do for your home defense guns. Anyone have any experience with those StopBox locks? Any others that you would recommend for keeping a firearm loaded with quick access?

Whatever you get needs to have a back up lock that’s keyed for when the electronic one fails.

Looking at options, That’s what I like about the StopBox and their AR-15 lock, it’s a quick finger press combo type deal, not electronic parts to it.

I keep a couple pieces at the ready on top of furniture such as book cases and cabinets. If someone foots my door down, I don’t have time to be putting in combinations....kids can’t get to them.

Yeah, four numbers (fingers in this case) can just plain baffle some folks.

Yeah, the safes are for daytime. Nighttime, they come open until the morning. If you’ve never tried opening a six digit electronic lock or put a key in a slot, after getting roused out of a deep sleep, you should.

That's why you open it before going to bed.

Leave your pistols loaded but empty chamber. By the time they can physically load the weapon they'll be old enough to know better.
