    Default Wireless Thermometers

I need a new one to monitor my turkey and other meats I may be cooking.

It depends on what you want to spend but here are the two I like. I actually own this one, https://www.thermoworks.com/Smoke and I'm going to purchase this one next, https://store-us.meater.com/products/meater-block

Can't go wrong with either one, the Smoke has been good to me though.

I have the ThermoWorks Signals and have been happy with it. It monitors four channels and has WiFi so I can be off on the farm or at work and get alerts when I get to a preset temp. You can use one channel to monitor pit temp with a low alarm so you know if you need to add coals/air. I will tell you that updates are a pain and I have had to call customer service a couple times but they have been great. I have a bunch of their products and have been generally pleased with them. One tip if you go this route - they tell you not to submerge the probes and they mean it. Order alcohol wipes to clean them. I dunked the first couple and had to order replacements (provided to me under warranty).

I have a meater and it's been great except the range. If I have it in my webber kettle I have to have to my phone a foot or two from the outside of the grill for it to pick up. In the oven I'll get 10 to 15 feet. I just have the basic model, might work better with the extended range model.

    ThermoWorks Signals.

Had mine for a few years now, love it.

That's it in the picture from the Sunday night church cook. I used it to monitor left-center-middle of the cooker on this cook.

They have a sale going 18% site wide. https://www.thermoworks.com/

I have get the a Signals, Thermapen, and a few Thermapops. I put the Thermapops in the house ,camper and smoker (as a spare).

Just seen they have the Dash out now. https://www.thermoworks.com/dash That must have took the place of the Thermapop.

So make this simple for me. I assume y'all are talking about grill stuff.

Is there a thermometer that you can stick in a rib roast or a picked duck, stick in an oven and while it is cooking the thermometer will reliably tell your telephone what internal temperature that meat is within say 8°? I would be very interested in something like that...

Been using it for years, works perfect and uses an app on your phone with alerts.

Yes. In fact, if you get a good one it will tell you exactly what the temp is.

Or, you can be like some people "that don't need no thermometer to tell me when my meats done" and over cook yo shit.....

Well point me in the direction of a good one and to Amazon I shall go. My oven does not follow silly little rules like time and temperature. 375 could mean Fahrenheit today and Celsius tomorrow. I am tired of guessing.

I've had this one for years and it works flawlessly. Not sure I've even changed the batteries.

But it makes me feel dirty when I use it....

I will say, for me, it takes some of the enjoyment out of cooking. I would imagine similar to a traeger or sous vide. When using the thermometer I find myself just looking at my phone the whole time instead of paying attention to the meat and the fire. It makes it really easy to cook near perfect meat.

If you go the Bluetooth/cellphone route, make sure you get one that allows the app to run in the background. I had one that you had to keep the app open all the time to get it to work. It kind of defeated the purpose of that feature.
