Absolutely.
Absolutely.
I usually do, but I have gotten better at just acknowledging the text and responding with something like
"I'll call you in the morning when I get back in the office" or something like that.
I think most folks are fine waiting after being acknowledged.
I'll acknowledge a text until dinner time usually, but then I'm off the clock. Rarely do I answer them on the weekends. My work gets enough of my time Monday-Friday
Yes. At any given time I can either be working, or not and I can pretty much work from anywhere.
For my business from a customer service standpoint I like to think the ease of communication is something my clients like and generally have come to accept at this point. I like to try to go the extra mile for clients and it generally pays off.
I generally tell clients they can call, text, email me anytime and if I have phone service I will respond.
Sometimes depending on what I am doing or what they ask I will say something along the lines of I will take care of you first thing in the AM.

I have so much to say on this issue. I hate a cell phone.
I have actually been looking for a text response app or something for after hours. Set it up with a response like Rick mentioned. When I'm accused of poor communication before you give me any money I'm done with you.
I have started charging for estimates for new customers. It's relatively small and comes right off the top. Helps qualifie my customers quickly.

My business pretty much went in the tank with this Wuhan-19 crap. Not sure how or when (or if) I’ll get it back, so I’ll respond to any text I hear come in, at least for now.

Definitely 24/7. I don’t keep clients for years and years by being a shitty customer service person.

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
Missing you my great friend.
I took 3 calls today in the blind and closed a deal I’ve been working on for 2 weeks. If it’s about money I got the time.
Yes sir. I am off next week and a customer texted me last night around 6pm and said can I call you Tuesday at 2pm? Without hesitation, Absolutely!!
The call will very likely be worth my time.
I wont even tell my clients I am off, I just wont be actively reaching out to them during that time.
Cell phones are a blessing and a curse. It can be tough to disconnect but on the flip side I can conduct business anywhere I have service and it has allowed me to do a lot of things an in the office 9-5 Wouldn’t allow. I have had several occasions where I have to tell my friends hey don’t shoot for 3 minutes and let me take this call.
Dead giveaway though for the boss man is if he calls me in May or June and it goes straight to voicemail which automatically equates to me being in the ocean. I have just left it in the truck before but enjoy taking pics etc.

My favorite ones have been "Hey, man, I know it's late, but can you increase the withdrawal limit on my debit card? I'm at a casino in Las Vegas and need some more money."
I've gotten that one twice from different people.
Unless I know the person and they are a real bother.
Either write things worth reading, or do things worth writing.
Yes but only to tell them I’ll take care of it as soon as I get back to the office. I don’t usually answer if the number isn’t saved in my phone so it’s generally text messages.
During the day I am typically with clients and they get uninterrupted time with me. Late in the day/afterhours is frequently the only time I get to respond to calls/texts/emails.
At my previous job I was on call 24/7 365. One night alone it was over 30 calls between 2200 and 0500....got to love logistics.
Out of all y’all that deal people 24-7-365 who actually runs your own business? I can understand sales and commissions and folks like that but I swing a hammer and juggle subs all day the last thing I wanna do is get a “how’s my quote looking “ when I’m laying on the couch at 8:30.. my paying customers get my full attention.
I deal with quotes and I am now 100% commission based, so I get it!
