    Buc-ee's to open its first South Carolina travel center

    Buc-ee's prides itself on having the 'world's cleanest restrooms' and offering dozens of fuel pumps at its locations, as well as a wide variety of food and merchandise.

    FLORENCE, S.C. —
    South Carolina will soon see the opening of its first Buc-ee's.

    The popular Texas-based travel center company currently has two locations in Georgia, in Warner Robins and Calhoun. A third is in the works in Brunswick.

    Buc-ee's will open its Florence, South Carolina location at on I-95 at Exit 170 on May 16.

    The first Buc-ee's travel center opened in Texas in 1982.

    The company prides itself on having the 'world's cleanest restrooms' and offering dozens of fuel pumps at its locations, as well as a wide variety of food and merchandise.

    All their food is good. Pulled Pork, Brisket, and Chicken Sandwiches are great. Good prices on Costa and Huk. Hard to beat all the way around.

    I heard last week that the one in Anderson is on hold. Something about the infrastructure around the site not being able to handle the additional traffic. Supposedly it was going to cost 38 mil to widen 178 and Buc-Ees was only going to kick a million into the project.

    We stopped at the one in Daytona Beach on Tuesday. Place is massive. Food there was really good. BBQ pulled pork sandwich was good. The Southwest Burrito finally quit talking to me last night.
