The biggest alligator in the state of SC lived there for many years. May still be there.

Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

There was more than one. I saw a 13.4 pulled out of there before they closed it to gator hunting

Used to be a special place. Would have been a great limited access location for paddle only hunting, but as usual, they came in, killed off the vegetation and made it a duck ghost town.

Skybusting, or the art of trying to magically propel steel shot 100 yards into the air at a passing duck, is a sure-fire way to ruin your own chances, and everyone else’s chances, at actually killing a duck.

I remember seeing one in there years back that was prehistoric large.. I was in my teens.. fishing in a 15 foot boat, 25 years ago. I remember it really well because I had a broke ankle, and it was a pain in the ass to maneuver around. I'm pretty sure I can hear Chessbays voice when he eased up to the surface next to us.

Used to be a great place to hunt. Plenty of canvasbacks and wigeon. Thick with ducks and hydrilla.

We used to put in directly from the causeway until they stopped that. There is no good reason to block that landing, it just insures only those with enough “ want to” end up using it. MG
