Very nice fish. We still need to get you out on some mountain trout, let me know if you are going to be in the area this spring and we can put a date on the calendar.

Beaufort is a special place. I have a shallow water rig ready to roll now. My daughters will be catching topwater reds in just a few months.

Big tides and fish down there. This guy came off a tiny feeder creek on Paris Island last fall.

Yep. You can wade fish off the base down there and hit some of the best flats around. Paddle board life...

This weather calls for tying flies and patching up the worst of the oyster rash on the bottom of the boat.

A few of each of these patterns to get started

I had the privilege of fishing the last few days with an 86 year young fly only angler. He still gets up on the bow, throws a tight loop, and catches fish. I can only hope I am able to do the same.

Nice pictures. Which fly line is that bright orange (maybe pinkish) line? Looks like that’d be real easy to see.

Really like those flies too, which hook is that first one tied on?

First fly is tied on an Umpqua

Orange line is a Rio Bonefish Quickshooter. Heavy front taper for loading quick shots which is great for most redfish scenarios. It also has better loop stability than most shooting head lines.

Awesome, thanks. I currently have a rio bonefish I’m looking to replace as it’s been showing some good wear the last few months. Might try that one out next

I have that and flats pro in 8 weights laying around off reels if you want to try either out before you buy.

This one loafed around long enough for me to get the phone out this morning.
