My 9 yo (small frame) has expressed a desire to shoot birds, that said, he shot a single shot 410 at 7 that gave him a bit of a kick and has been concerned about recoil hence his hesitation to start shooting. After doing some searching, I'm leaning towards getting him a TriStar Viper G2 youth 20, they have a two stock (youth/adult) combo that is in the affordable range. My thoughts are the autoloader will reduce recoil, and I'll start him with low recoil loads. Would likely just give him one shell at a time for practice sessions, than move to a heavier load once we get in the field and he's comfortable.

Any better options for low recoil guns? I don't want to go 410 route or smaller gauge route so really looking at 20 ga guns.

Anyone have a used one they're interested in selling?
