    Default Numbers

The opener is looking pretty dismal to say the least. Last few years I was seeing 50-100 birds at any given time at my 2-3 best areas. This year, a total of 2 woodies in all of my areas combined. I hate to say it but this may be the first opener that i sit out in a long time!

Went and watched ducks tonight. About 15% of normal numbers. Some ring necks, woodies, gadwall, wigeon, teal, and a handful of mallards.

I feel really bad for you.

I saw a few gadwall and 7 wood ducks last Saturday in the Upstate.

The forecast South of the Mason Dixon line stretching west is pretty damn dismal looking forward...

Looks like some moved out on us with this cold front. Still think we will do ok Saturday. Just wood ducks and a very few mallards which I suspect are tamies from somewhere. Did see a green wing teal last week which is a first here.

I went and scouted one of my swamps this morning and only saw about 25 wood ducks. I'll tell you the weather is going to be a lot better than the previous two years for opening day. I'm looking forward to it. Opening day always gets my blood pumping
