Well, my dad will reach the ripe young age of 89 tomorrow. He decided he wanted prime rib, so that's what I'm cooking for him. I melted some butter, and added a little bit of garlic. Once it cooled down, I coated the roast with it, and added a liberal amount of sea salt and fresh ground pepper. Got it covered, and in the fridge until tomorrow. I'll put it in the oven at 12, for 80 minutes, at 550 degrees. Then turn the oven off, and let it stay in there for 2 hours.
