    Default Tractor insurance

Just bought a new to me John Deere and I am looking for an insurance policy but Farm Bureau and Nationwide only cover if you have an existing policy. Anyone have any insight or recommendations? I can move vehicles if I have to, but rather not at this point.

Just pay a premium to your own savings account.

I learned a long time ago that tractors aren't bulldozers. I am waiting on a call from the dealership now to tell me how much the recent lesson that they also aren't DSRVs is going to cost. Insurance=good. No insurance=bad.

An Independent agent can cover it. As a side note, the last time I checked the John Deere policy they offer you when you purchase the tractor had a decreasing amount of coverage (the amount owed) while the premium stayed the same each month. Would really suck to have paid for insurance for 47 months, have the tractor burn up and they bring you a $600 check. Even given the decreasing coverage, an independent agent can cover it for the full amount with no decreases over the years for less premium than John Deere.

My home/auto is with Farm Bureau and they covered mine along with a farm liability policy

Tractor stays at Son in Law house but do take to leased land, knew guy that got it deep stuff when his caught on fire and burned some timber company land years ago Luckily he had umbrella policy that saved his ass

Sometimes I think I am insurance poor but can not take the risk

Anything over 25hp goes on farm policy from what my agent told me Seems like mine including farm liability is $241 yr
