If woods hunting be in and settled at 7:00. Maybe 6:50 if an open area. I’m not one to sit in the dark forever.

Sunrise was at 7:40 this morning and I was there at 6:00. I have to walk around an open field corner so I try to get there a little early. I had a deer under the stand at 6:30, a few minutes before legal shooting that moved off right before I could see them... I'm assuming it was deer anyways. Had more deer in the field at 7:25 - 7:30 which is right on par with what I've been seeing... 15-20 minutes before sunrise.

Just got settled. I like getting in early. And what is this “legal” shooting light y’all speak of?

Sunrise at my place this morning is lusted as 7:50 AM. Legal shooting time is one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset. ‘Legal shooting time’ that they’re talking about is when is there really enough light to actually see what you want to shoot at. Typically that may be 30-45 minutes before sunrise, depending on where you are and what the weather’s like.

Obviously my reply assumes you asked a serious question, which may be a mistake. Either way, good luck.

Got in about 15 minutes ago, I can’t see a thing, pitch black even with full moon in the hardwoods. Buddy hunting the field, text he can see 200 yards. It’s brisk this morning in the upstate.

Judging by the rifle shots I’ve already heard it’s 715 here in the Piedmont.
